Founded in 1992, the Nottingham Shoulder and Elbow unit comprises a group of surgeons and their teams with a special interest and expertise in conditions of the shoulder and elbow.

The unit provides shoulder and elbow orthopaedic services within a number of institutions across Nottingham, including: The Nottingham City Hospital; The Queens Medical Centre; The Circle Treatment Centre; The Nottingham BMI Park Hospital and The Ramsay Nottingham Woodthorpe Hospital.

The Unit is the busiest centre for shoulder surgery in the UK (Dr Foster 2010). It is a leading centre for higher surgical training and advanced surgical fellowships. A keystone in the Unit’s history is a track record of leading clinical research and development of surgical products and techniques.
